WELLNESS JEWELLERY SUITE

This jewellery suite is an accessory extension of my fashion collection 'Resonance'. One that thematically and aesthetically complements it in its stylization. 'Resonance' is conceptualized around wellness wearing, with the hope of creating clothes that have the power to heal, center and balance the body and soul, especially in a generation overwhelmed by chaos, turmoil and disruption. Looking at traditional healing practices rooted in my Indian heritage, one such practice was of balancing the ‘chakras’ or primary energy centers of the body using sound healing practices.  Therefore, through the strategic integration of metal and precious stones into its materiality, each of my garments produces mediative sounds with the hope of channeling positive energy in the user. 

This jewellery line, including rings, earrings and cuffs, mirrors and harmonizes the metallic aesthetic central to my garments, while also celebrating the stylistic sensibilities curated in the collection. 

There is a sense of rhythm, flow and calming repetitiveness that is reflected in the metal through techniques like scoring and folding, hammering and wax casting to make identical pieces consistently. The ring has an undulating wave like structure emerging from the focal point of the bezel set stone, similar to the radial pleating present in a number of looks. Moreover, the rustic identity showed off in the cuff, executed through the positive and negative sawing of metal in nature inspired silhouettes, lends the organic, earthy attributes, associated with a sense of peace and oneness. Finally, the sterling silver set of stud earrings and ring, modeled in wax, have a visual play in depth while creating a radial sunburst effect, alluding to the motifs of emerging energy vibrations and ultimately lending a sense of tranquility to the collection.
